Comparative adjective

It is used to compare two or more things

noun + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun
 

My sandwich is bigger than yours

 

Examples

  • My bicycle is faster than Jim's bike

  • This tree is higher than the house 



Superlative 

It is used to describe an object which is at the upper or lower limit of a quality   

noun + verb  + the + superlative adjective + noun 

  My sandwich is the biggest in this classroom


Examples

  • My house is the largest in this street
  • This is the smallest dog I've ever seen



Irregular comparatives and superlatives
